Server move...
Posted by JohnB on 18 September 2008 03:20 AM
We are in the process of moving to a faster server due to a hard drive failing on our other machine. Right now we basically have just about everything functioning as normal but the monitoring service. That is going to require a full rebuild and config migration to match the newer services. We will get this back up and running as soon as possible. If you have any trouble with any of our web pages or scripts please let us know asap so we can look into it further. We will provide updates as necessary...

IMPORTANT: Submission of tickets and information...
Posted by JohnB on 20 March 2007 07:49 PM
When sending in tickets please be sure to add any relevant information in the fields such as hostname, ip address, etc.. This information helps verify you and your information as well as speed along the support process. We have these in place for those reasons. Some users are not adding this information to the tickets which slows down the support process. In addition use of these fields are more secure than just posting to the ticket.

Also some users are pasting email headers, email content, ssl certs & csr's, etc. directly into the tickets. This causes a problem as in a lot of cases certain information becomes stripped due to special characters in addition to it becomes corrupted and unreadable in most. When you need to send information like this please paste in a .txt file (i.e. notepad, etc.) and upload it as an attachment. Please do not post this information directly into the ticket. This helps everyone involved.

If you need help or instructions on any of these or have a better alternative please let us know.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Regards,
HelpMe24x7 Support Administrator

Network issues | Updated 10:15am
Posted by JohnB on 28 November 2006 06:17 AM
We are currently experiencing some minor network issues across a few routers up the chain from our provider. To keep from flooding the email queue and inboxes with false reports we have currently stopped the monitoring services until the issue is resolved. It appears that they are doing some maintenance to the network so hopefully it will be back up full force soon. If you have gotten an alert please check your server first before sending in a ticket. We are monitoring the situation very closely and will restart the monitoring server as soon as the network maintenance is completed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Management

Update1: Currently the network problems appear to be isolated to 4 servers with us. Two of them at ev1servers.net (which I cant get to ev1servers.net at all) and other two at a dc overseas. We have scheduled 3 hours of downtime for the affected servers so that we can restart our monitoring service. Again while it is isolated to those 4 machines more may pop into this issue so if you get an alert please check your server first. I will attempt to keep close tabs on the situation and will update if anything changes. Hopefully they will be back up by the end of the downtime. If not we will likely extend the downtime for a few more hours to allow the maintenance process longer to be completed. If others pop up we will schedule downtime for them as well as needed.

Update2: Everything appears to be back to normal. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
